The European Commission’s new ODR (Online Dispute Resolution) platform is now operational. It enables consumers and traders to refer contractual disputes that arise from buying goods or services online to an agreed ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) provider, rather than resorting to litigation.
From 15 February 2016, online retailers and marketplace providers must comply with the relevant Regulations by including a link to the ODR platform:
(a) on their websites, and
(b) in their terms and conditions.
They are also encouraged to provide information for consumers about the ODR platform and ADR. Click here for further information.
